Battle of the Badges
A Test of Strength and Agility
To honor the brave and selfless actions displayed by our local public safety officers on December 2, 2015, SBD Fest is proud to continue the tradition of SB Strong: Battle of the Badges - a test of Strength and Agility!
Saturday, November 2, 2019
Sunday, November 3, 2019
The San Bernardino City Police Department will challenge the San Bernardino County and San Manuel Fire Departments in a test of strength and agility for a position in the Championship round against last year’s victor, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
Teams will relay-race to finish series of squats, bench presses and chin ups.
The team that finishes first will advance to the Championship round on Sunday!
The winner of the battle round will challenge the reigning champions, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, to a tug-o-war at show center for the 2019 Battle of the Badges medal and endless bragging rights.
Who will force their opponent over the centerline first? Will the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department hold onto their title or will a new winner emerge?
The SB Strong Battle of the Badges is made possible, in part, through the generous support of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. As an indigenous community the origins and history of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians stem from its relationship with the land and to all who share it. Since ancient times the Tribe has expressed itself through a culture of giving.
Today, San Manuel is able to answer the call of Yawa' (Serrano language word meaning “to act on one's beliefs”) through partnerships with charitable organizations. The Tribe draws upon its history, knowledge, expertise and cultural values to direct philanthropic giving regionally and to Native American causes and disaster relief on a national level.
